What is the classification and maintenance of a water chiller for a fiber laser cutting machine?

2023-12-15

There is a bewildering variety of Water cooling machine available in the market, like box-type air-cooled chillers, box-type water-cooled chillers, open-type chillers, water-cooled screw chillers, air-cooled screw chillers, acid and alkali-resistant chillers etc. Compared with the air-cooled water cooling machine, water-cooled industrial chiller is well applied in the fiber laser market as it has a great adaptability.

The cooling system plays a critical role in cooling the distilled water and transporting it to the equipment, the circulation of distilled water between the water cooler and the equipment makes it possible to keep a constant temperature state.

Fig.1 is the work principle of water cooling machine that could be your reference.

Regarding to the maintenance of water cooler, it could divided into three types: daily maintenance, weekly maintenance and monthly maintenance. We suggest that you should switch off the power supply and wait for 5 minutes, it could prolong the service life of water cooler.

When the chiller stops for a long time at an ambient temperature of less than 0℃, you must drain away the water inside the chiller.

Weekly inspection is a major part of the routine maintenance. Operation, vibration, noise and operating data should be analyzed for potential safety hazards.

Weekly inspection mainly include:

a. Check filter screen and clean the dust (see Fig. 2);

b. Observe the level in the tank and fill coolant in case of a low level;

c. Clean the chiller surface.

In addition, monthly inspection including three steps:

a. Check connections and the circulating pump for noise level. Please contact the manufacturer in case of abnormal noise, leakage or dripping;

b. Check the fan and compressor and contact the manufacturer for abnormal noise.

c. Check and clean the internal filter (see Fig.3 Example filter).
